Description
Plan a new business or branch with confidence. List one-time setup costs and monthly running costs, add your funding sources, and see the total you need, the funding gap and the payback time. This startup cost calculator works in Excel and Google Sheets.
What it does
- One-time setup costs by category, estimated vs actual
- Monthly running costs and working capital
- Contingency buffer you set
- Funding sources with secured vs expected status
- Dashboard with total needed, funding gap and months to recover
How it works
- Settings: set your contingency % and working-capital months.
- Startup Costs: list setup costs, running costs and funding sources.
- Dashboard: see how much you need and the funding gap.
What’s inside
Start Here guide, Dashboard (14 headline numbers and 6 charts), Startup Costs, Analysis and Settings sheets.
Good to know
- Excel and Google Sheets: open it in Microsoft Excel, or upload it to Google Drive and choose Open with → Google Sheets. Formulas, dropdowns and charts carry over.
- Colour-coded: blue cells are for your entries, grey cells calculate automatically, so you can’t break a formula by accident.
- Sample data included: a demo business fills every sheet so the dashboard works from day one. Clear the blue cells when you start.
- Any currency: amounts show without a symbol, and you set your currency once in Settings.
